Newsletter 2007 05

Hello friends!

Many things have happened since our last newsletter and we would like to thank you for your support in all of our events. We celebrated our 13th anniversary with the first visit of Tiësto to Acapulco, who spun two nights in a row. Both times, Nadia Ali, the vocalist, opened the celebration singing Rapture, Kiss You, At the End and Is it Love. Without a doubt, till this day, two of the best nights at Palladium.
On December 30th we had as our special guests Chus & Ceballos who almost did not show up. En route to Madrid airport in Spain they were told that all of the flights were cancelled because of the bomb that had exploded. They had to travel to another city to take a new flight and be on time at Palladium. They played a set of tribal rhythms, those of which they are renowned for and earned them respect among electronic artists.

We closed 2006 and started 2007 with Vivie-Ann’s second visit to the port. Without a doubt, a great DJ that had all of our guests dancing until 8 in the morning. At last, on King’s Day, the King of House Music visited us, a living legend:  Roger Sanchez, who played one of the most incredible sets we have heard up to date. Certainly, his next visit is anxiously awaited.

During the long weekend in February, we saw Gabriel & Dresden for the first time in Mexico . They presented an incredible show with a full house and enjoyed the night so much that they allowed us to put in our website their entire live set where anyone can download it and enjoy. We thank Josh Gabriel and Dave Dresden for their generosity and for sharing with all of us the greatest gift, the one that keeps on giving, MUSIC.
To download G&D's set, please first login, then look for the Downloads button on the main menu.
We continue with our mission to bring new artists to Palladium since nowadays there are so many great DJ’s and producers that it would not be wise to repeat the same ones all the time. On Spring Break in 2007 Bad Boy Bill came back and we had the first visit of the 5th place winner in the annual votes of DJ Mag of the best DJ’s in the world. DJ Dan was spellbound with the place and promised to come back soon; an incredible electro night. Easter 2007 brought the visit of a famous DJ that had not been in Mexico before: Benny Benassi who fired Palladium’s turntables with an exceptional energy and style. All through the fireworks cascade, he played a remix of his Satisfaction hit that filled the dance floor and inspired people to whistle and scream. We hope he will come back soon.

Once again, we thank all of you who have felt the rush with us during all these years.
